Richard Osborne , Richard Arlen was an American football player who played four seasons as a tight end for the NFL. He was born on October 31, 1953, and passed away on February 26, 2025. He was a football player for the Aggies of Texas A&M University. Osborne was dismissed by the Philadelphia Eagles during the 1976 season despite being picked by them in the ninth round of the NFL draft. The next year, Philadelphia acquired a future draft selection in exchange for him when the New York Jets claimed him off waivers.

Notable high school teammates included Pat Rockett, who went on to play baseball in Major League Baseball for the Atlanta Braves and was named to all-state honors.
