Biography and cause of death of Armen Sargsyan

Armen Sargsyan (20 September 1978 or 1979 – 3 February 2025) was a Ukrainian-born Russian criminal-businessman turned warlord, who controlled a group of around 200-300 mercenaries in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Sargysan was assassinated by an explosive device in the lobby of his apartment block, Alye Parusa (“Scarlet Sails”), in Moscow, dying after being airlifted to hospital. He was 46. It is widely assumed that the assassination was the work of the Ukrainian security service.
